June 8, 2018 -- Cedar Grove Elementary School has been awarded gold star status by the No Place for Hate program by the NY Anti-Defamation League.
Throughout the year, students completed various activities which allowed them to work together to combat prejudice and enhance a culture of respect in their school and community.
On May 25, Cedar Grove Elementary was one of many schools throughout New York and New Jersey that participated in the No Place For Hate recognition ceremony. There, school representatives were given the pictured gold status banner.
Pictured (from right to left) with the banner are members of the Cedar Grove No Place for Hate school committee: Amy Winters, school liaison; Susan Schlueter, 3rd grade teacher; Nikole Harxhi, ESL teacher; Tom Lanza, supervisor; and Jolene Mizsak, speech therapist.
