June 1, 2018 -- This week, Silver Bay Elementary and Walnut Street Elementary were recognized as Showcase Schools by New Jersey Positive Behavior Support in Schools (NJ PBSIS). Both schools, in their second full year of implementation, had the opportunity to present their successes at the annual NJ PBSIS Leadership Forum. The presentations, created by the leaders of the PBSIS committees at each school, highlighted the amazing work happening at the schools.
NJ PBSIS is a collaboration between the NJ Department of Education Offices of Special Education and The Boggs Center, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The schools used the New Jersey Tiered System of Support (NJTSS) framework of academic and behavioral supports and interventions to improve student achievement, based on the core components of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and the three-tier prevention logic of Response to Intervention (RTI).
Congratulations and great work!
