Veterans Day Program November 8, 2006
On Nov. 8, 2006, Veterans were honored by Beachwood Elementary students with a special program. The Student Council performed a skit entitled "So, Where's the Parade?". 5th grade students performed 3 songs and a dance. Taps was performed by a 5th grade student on his trumpet to honor Veterans past and present. Sgt. William Schreiber of the Army National Guard surprised the students by bringing an Army Humvee for them to see. He also presented Mrs. Linda Jones, program coordinator, with an award by the New Jersey National Guard for what she has done to honor Veterans over the past 10 years. The program was dedicated to Lt. Tim Zieser who left for a one year deployment in Iraq this past weekend. Lt. Zieser is the husband of Mrs. Jen Zieser, 1st grade teacher at Beachwood. We all wish him good luck and a speedy return home.
