Country Music Sensation Visited Intermediate East to Spread Important Message

Radio Disney and country music singer, Jessie Chris, visited Intermediate East to share a powerful message on bullying. As hundreds of students gathered, Jessie shared her personal story and struggles with being a victim of bullying throughout her childhood and teenage years.

The star has been a proud supporter and one of the faces of Disney’s #ChooseKindness Anti-Bullying Campaign.

At 14 years old, Jessie wrote her first song "Chameleon" to help her cope with those feelings. Despite being told she wasn't good enough by her classmates in school, Jessie was determined to channel her frustration into something positive. She believed in herself and in her passion, which ultimately led to her success in the music industry.

Following her presentation, students, staff, and faculty of Intermediate East were surprised with a live performance featuring one of her hit songs "Burn" and other musical selections that promote confidence and anti-bullying.

Toms River Regional Schools also welcomed Jessie earlier in the school year when she visited East Dover Elementary.
