The scouts and scout leaders of Troop 165, along with some of my good friends volunteered this past August to complete my Eagle Scout project. It consisted of building three, fifteen by fifteen feet raised beds. They are enclosed in order to protect the plants from wildlife and or other types of disturbances. I was able to fundraise the entire cost of all three planters. Woodhaven Lumber supplied over $1,000 worth of materials. My project provides the students of East Dover with a hands-on-way of getting to know the beauty of nature. The students will learn how to take care of plants from seed to harvest. I’m glad I had the opportunity to give the students of East Dover a place to share what they learn in the classroom.
