Meet Hooper Avenue Elementary's Teacher of the Year.....
Mr. David Geiger has been voted Teacher of the Year by his peers. He has been teaching Health and Physical Education at the Hoop for twenty-eight years. After graduating from Montclair State College, Mr. Geiger became a key faculty member at our school, coaching the Hooper Huskies Basketball Team and Sports Intramurals and fundraising for the March of Dimes for Babies and the American Heart Association in addition to organizing and hosting professional inservices for our district elementary Physical Educators. He is married and has four children: Amber, Dan, Tara and Tristan. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, boating and mountain biking. His favorite part of his job is “the great kids we have here at Hooper”. Students and colleagues alike appreciate Mr. Geiger's enthusiasm and dedication.
