GENERAL
A warm welcome is extended to all students. The Media Center has an extensive collection of print and non-print resources, which includes web searching. The card catalogue is fully automated. Word processing, the Internet, and several on-line programs, such as, Social Issues Resources are available in the computer lab. The library staff encourages students to use the Media Center and its resources for researching, reading, browsing, viewing and listening.

The Media Computer Lab
There are 30 terminals in the lab where students can access research programs, word processing and the Internet The lab is open from 7:15am to 3:00 PM for classes and individual students. The Internet is available to students who have filled out the form for terms and conditions for use on the Internet." And have been assigned a user name and password. Students who use the Internet must sign in on the attendance sheet at the main circulation desk. Students who use the lab for video games or any inappropriate web sites or who tamper with any of the equipment will be suspended from using the lab.

STUDY HALL STUDENTS USING THE LIBRARY PASSES:
* Library staff will issue all passes. As many passes as possible will be issued, depending upon class use by teachers.
* All passes should be picked up one day in advance of library use (Between 7:00 am. and 3:00 p.m.
* Students MUST REPORT TO STUDY HALL at the beginning of the period to have study hall teachers sign and time the pass
* A library staff member must sign when students leave before the end of the period.
* All passes will be returned to study hall teachers at end of day.

SIGN-IN SHEET:
* All students must sign in on the attendance sheet on the circulation desk.
* Sign-in sheet is returned to main office at end of day and kept on file for the year.

STUDENTS USING THE LIBRARY DURING LUNCH

PASSES:
* Students should read and follow the rules stated above.
* Students should try to have lunch in the student center at beginning of period and then use a pass to get to the library.

SIGN-IN SHEET:
* All lunch students must sign in on attendance sheet the circulation desk and put L after name.
* Sign in sheet is returned to main office at end of day and kept on file for the year.

HOURS
The library/media center is open during the school day, as well as before and after school. (7 00 a m -3 00 p.m.)

CIRCULATION
All materials in the library circulate for three weeks. Reserve/Reference books circulate overnight.

FINES
A fine of five cents per school day will be paid for overdue books. Lost books must be paid at their replacement value. A fine shall be paid for any damage to a book other than ordinary wear and tear. If library materials are not returned after three overdue notices, administrative action will be taken. Students are encouraged to return books and materials promptly as other students may need these items. Students are encouraged to use the Media Center for educational purposes and to assist with their course work. No food or beverages are allowed in the Media Center. Students must present their student ID card to receive a hall pass as well as for checking out material from the Media Center. Remember your ID card is also your library card.
