The Student Council at High School  North will endeavor to serve the best  interests of all students. Pupils are elected to represent the school to plan services activities and voice student suggestions.

Student Council Member requirements 

1. A. Open to all students in good standing who meet board of education  requirements for extracurricular

    B. All candidates   must fulfill petition requirements

2. Student Council Officers:

President- must be a senior with at least 2 years of membership

Vice President -at least 1 year of membership

Secretary- open to all members

Treasurer-open to all members

Election of officers is held at general  meeting. Nominations come from the membership and speeches are given by the nominees. Voting is by secret ballot. Any candidate who runs for office and loses may run for another office.

Student Election Format

The following requirements must be adhered to by all students in order to be eligible to run for class office/ freshman and sophomore executive committees

1. All candidates must achieve a minimum of 2.0 grade point average with at least a 1,2 or 3  in industry or attitude. A grade of F is unacceptable .

2. All candidates must fulfill petition requirements

3. All candidates must exhibit appropriate behavior and citizenship both in and out of school subject to approval by appropriate level Assistant Principle

4. During the preceding school year all candidates must have attended at least 60 %

of  the class meetings and/ or participated in committee work for their respective class.

5. Candidates  cannot be in violation of the Board of Education Attendance Policy

6. Nominations can only be accepted fir candidates who meet all election format requirements

7. Ballots  will be counted by student activity director and class advisors

8. Once students  have met approval requirements for grade level officers school wide elections will be held at a designated time

9. Class officers will work with an executive committee appointed by the class advisors and activity directors. The committee will be comprised of a minimum of 10 students one whom will serve as chairman and one who will be a co chairman. The duties of the remaining members of the committee, a student must meet all election format requirements the executive committee will be chosen approximately one week after the first quarter report cards are issued.
