Cafeteria Menus

Cafeteria Information

The Toms River Regional Schools Food Services Department is pleased to announce that we will not be raising meal prices for the upcoming school year 2011-2012. In order for the district to maintain one of the lowest priced meal programs in the State it is imperative that we manage our Food Service Department in a fiscally responsible manner. Starting in September 2011, the following will become effective:

  • Student accounts will no longer be allowed to fall below a zero balance.
  • Students who do not have funds on account, cash or a meal from home will be provided with a tuna fish or cheese sandwich and a juice.
  • Student accounts will be charged $1.25 for "Over the Limit" meals (OTL). This includes Breakfast, Lunch, and Kindergarten Snack (.60).
  • Students will receive no more than 10 OTL meals or snacks. Households will be notified prior to a child not receiving the OTL meal/snack.
  • Qualifying households have received a Direct Certification letter stating that their child/children will receive Free Meals for School Year 2011-2012. These families do not need to complete a new lunch application. Your child/children will receive Free Meals from the first day of school.

All other households will be receiving by mail a Federal Meal Application package. If you think you may qualify for the Federal Meal program, please complete the new lunch application and return it in the enclosed envelope. If you have not received a Direct Certification letter or have not completed a new lunch application, your child/children may no longer receive a free or reduced price meal.

Applications are mailed to households and will be available September 1st at any school in the district or from the 1144 Hooper Avenue information desk. Applications may be completed at anytime during the school year if your financial situation changes. Each child has an ID number that they use while in the cafeteria so there are no visible indicators in the purchasing process that your child is receiving a free or reduced price. If you have any questions, concerns or problems please contact your child's school or the Food Services Department.
