3rd Annual Dance for a Cause
Thursday, January 17, 2008

At the 3rd Annual Dance for a Cause, 15 High School South students put on a recital for family, friends, and community members.  The students performed dances in the areas of lyrical dance, ballet, tap, hip-hop, and others.

The event raised money for the ALS Hope Foundation. The students danced in memory of Linda Paladino, a former Toms River Regional Schools teacher, who taught in the gifted and talented program at West Dover and Pine Beach before passing away from ALS. The dancers raised over $1,800 in donations.

Marisa Hauenstein, a co-director of the event and High School South’s senior class president, said that, “Each year we do this event, the co-directors come up with a theme and it’s always something that has had an impact on our lives.”

Mrs. Paladino was Marisa’s teacher when she attended West Dover Elementary.
