The High School East Green Team will be running GREEN DAY 2008 at the school on Friday, May 9.  There will be rides, games, food, craft vendors, exhibits, and live music.

The goal of the event is to promote environmental awareness and to demonstrate the Toms River Regional Schools commitment to environmental excellence.  The Green Team also hopes to educate the community of Toms River to become more socially aware of its environmental responsibilities. 

East’s Green Team is coordinating the event to provide students, faculty, and community members with an understanding of the issues related to global warming and what we can specifically do to limit our environmental impacts. 

The school will be hosting a variety of guest speakers throughout the day who will speak to students on environmental issues such as recycling, energy, global warming, and pollution.  Each school in the district has also been asked to submit a presentation of what they have been doing at their school to help the environment for display at the mini-festival that day.
