Pina DiBrizzi, a third grade teacher at Pine Beach Elementary, was recognized by radio stations WJRZ and WRAT as a "Teacher Who Rocks!" Miss DiBrizzi (far right in picture) was one of four Toms River teachers to receive the honor.

Always filled with energy and enthusiasm, Miss DiBrizzi constantly strives for innovative teaching methods to best benefit her students. She often relates the curriculum with analogies to help students better understand difficult concepts. Miss DiBrizzi often employs the use of storytelling as a teaching technique; storytelling helps grab the attention of students and help them recall important facts. Games and fun activities -- studying in a Jeopardy! format, cardinal and directional games like "Mother May I", and "Word Detectives" to discover context clues within sentences to determine the meaning of new vocabulary words -- always make learning fun.

Miss DiBrizzi's willingness to volunteer for extra-curricular activities always proves to be a benefit for the district. Among her many roles, she is the facilatator of the Leo Club, the elementary school version of the International Lions Club.
