![]() STUDENTS SHOW THEY CARE Monday, November 24, 2008 Thanksgiving Celebrations at Toms River Regional Schools
High School
South Mr. Robert Covello, manager of Foodtown on Rt. 37, was kind enough to supply the entire dinners for a discounted price. The entire kitchen at the supermarket is involved in the project that helps so many worthy families during this special season of giving and thanks. With any remaining money, students and their advisor, Donna Amon, plan to make a donation to the Ocean County Hunger Relief. This is an ongoing tradition at High School South. Last year, the organization was able to supply 40 dinners, which fed approximately 240 people. The students realize that the need may be even greater this year as many families are struggling with the tough economic times. “The Indian Chapter of the National Honor Society is a very altruistic group of fine young people who are anxious to help the less fortunate in the school community,” said Ms. Amon. “I am honored and humbled to work with this outstanding group.”
