3rd Annual PTO Sponsored Spaghetti Dinner

STRE would like to thank all of the restaurants and businesses for their donations.
Without the help of all the volunteers none of this would have been possible.
See you all next year! Ciao!
Apple Sauce
Mrs. Dierking's kindergarten class pays tribute to
Johnny Appleseed's Birthday by making apple sauce.
Kindergarten Fall Festival
The 2nd annual Fall Festival was celebrated
this October in honor of the new autumn season.
Children and families participated in games, crafts,
stories and songs during the festival. The main event,
sponsored by the PTO, was the pumpkin patch.
Each student picked and painted their own pumpkins.
Harvest Time
Students in kindergarten and first grade dissected
pumpkins. Then they counted by tens to discover many seeds
were inside. They learned that sometimes the smallest pumpkin
can have the most seeds!
Thank you PTO
Pictured above are the many books donated to
our school's library by the PTO. Thank you also to the

Giving Thanks
Miss Baxter and Mrs. Dierking's kindergarten
classes participated in a Thanksgiving Feast.
Families joined them for an educational trip
back to the time of the Pilgrims and Native
Americans.
Poetry Readings
5th grade students performed their poetry for
their families.
Ms. Golabek’s class has a student whose father is overseas
stationed in Bahrain. Back in November each student in the
class decided to send this soldier a letter wishing him a Happy
Thanksgiving. In December, he, eleven other soldiers, and the
Commander Master Chief sent the children t-shirts, medals, and
letters wishing them a Merry Christmas. As a Thank You
Ms. Golabek’s class will be sending over a care package which
includes a picture of the class, thank you letters from each student,
coffee, granola bars, and other treats. The class plans to remain
pen pals with the troops for the remainder of the year.
Kindergarten Holiday Sing
All three kindergarten classes performed holiday
songs for their families. The children sang, played
instruments and danced to many traditional
Christmas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah songs.
Poster Contest Winner
Every year the Ocean County Clerk’s Office
sponsors a poster contest for 4th grade students.
A student from our school designed the poster
that was chosen to represent the month of October.

literature such as Holes and A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Thanks to our PTO for providing us with such a fascinating
program!
On June first, third graders from STRE took part in our

and provided a descriptive account of their ancestors' journey
to America. Speeches were followed by patriotic songs and food
