Materials: 12" x 18" black paper, tempera paint, cardboard strips, paper tubes, clothes pins, etc.

Procedure:

Fold the paper into eight rectangles.

Explain that wherever they place a print from a shape (such as a clothespin) it should appear in the same spot in every rectangle.

There will be a different color for each shape.

Each group of four will have four colors and a shape in each color.

The students will try to build up a design by using each of the four shapes.
