Art Projects

Collage 1:  Look through old magazines and cut out pictures of eyes and other facial features of your teacher. Glue the pieces onto a piece of paper and draw the shape of the head around them. Draw any missing parts such as ears and hair or use scrap paper and yarn. Attach a story about the teacher and hang on display.

Collage 2:  Look for pictures of things that help to describe your teacher. Find pictures of their favorite animals, books, cars, clothes, music, TV shows, or movies. Cut them out and glue them on a piece of colored paper. Before gluing, the paper can be cut into the shape of an apple, a person, or one of the teacher's initials. Attach a story about the teacher and hang on display.

Writing Projects

Letter:  Go to this site and learn how to write a letter. (Still looking for a good site about letter writing. If you know the URL of a good site, send it to the email address at the bottom of this page)

Other Projects

Mail the Letters:  This project is great when writing to teachers in your own school. Make a large "Thank a Teacher" mailbox and place it outside your classroom or school office. As students finish writing their letters, they may "mail" them by placing them in the mailbox. Students may be selected to sort and deliver the "mail" on May 8th.
