Youth Art Month 2000 East Dover Elementary School Toms River, New Jersey Art Teachers: Barbara Lintus and Julie Heise

The photo below shows artwork created by the students of Barbara Lintus. Fourth grade artists at East Dover created these "Tree Silhouettes" on a cool color mosaic background. They made a beautiful display in the hallway with cut paper snowflakes.

The photo below shows two projects created by students of Julie Heise who teaches at East Dover and Cedar Grove.

This project required students to cut a shape from colored paper. A piece of white paper was placed underneath and the cut opening was traced onto the white paper. Students glued colorful tissue squares onto the shape, being sure to overlap the colors to create new colors. When the work was dry, the colored paper was placed on top and other materials were added to create hot air balloons or kites.
