Youth Art Month 2001 |
During the week of March 12-18, 2001, the National Art Education Association displayed student artwork from across the nation on the large Astrovision screen in Times Square, New York City. Student artwork was displayed every hour, 15 hours a day, for the entire week! This was done to celebrate Youth Art Month while over 5,000 members of the National Art Education Association attended their 2001 convention in New York City.
Five New Jersey students were selected to have their work displayed on the Astrovision screen. The theme of the display was "My World." Pictured above, two proud kindergarten artists are holding work that had been selected for this special honor. They are students of Valerie Negra at Mountain Way School in Morris Plains, New Jersey.
