Poster and Flag Competition

Many New Jersey organizations are participating in the Youth Art Month poster and flag competition.

Rules for poster and flag design:

Design must be submitted on 12" x 18" paper, horizontal format.
Design must be in color and include the theme: "Start With Art-Learn For Life." This will be the New Jersey theme for 2005. The new theme celebrates the importance of art to the total education of every child.
Design must include the YAM logo (see examples of posters and flags below).
Design must be bold, 2-D, simple flat color design for reproduction.
No more than two entries from each school. Each school district is to select winning designs and submit them no later than December 6, 2005 to:

YAM Poster Design: The winning poster design will be reproduced and distributed to all schools throughout the state. It will also be posted on a billboard.

YAM Flag: The winning entry will be made into a flag and flown in Washington, D.C. in March. The award winning student designer will have the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony and reception.

Other YAM Designs: Additional designs will be selected to be printed onto buttons, posted onto billboars and used as invitations for the state YAM exhibit in Trenton.
