Message From The Director

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

        It is my sincere desire and aim that every instrumental  music  student have a successful, enriching, and enjoyable learning experience in our music program here at the Hooper Avenue Elementary School. The degree to which this is achieved depends on professional instruction on the part of the teacher and the students’ regular attendance at lessons and rehearsals, as well as diligent practice at home. I am asking parents to assist their children in maintaining  a consistent practice routine at home until they have achieved the self-discipline necessary to continue on their own. A schedule such as this will not only guarantee success, but will help develop the inner self-discipline that is necessary for success in any pursuit in life. You will be pleased to know that in addition to receiving a musical education, educational research has shown that the study of music actually effect improvement in reading, spelling, mathematics, listening skills, verbal activities, motor skills, and much more. Students will reap these benefits to the degree that they apply themselves.
