Program Descriptions American Recovery and Reinvestment ACT (ARRA): These funds create an unprecedented opportunity for educators to implement innovative strategies to improve education for at-risk students in Title I schools and to improve outcomes for children and youth with disabilities, while also stimulating the economy. The Title I and IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) allocations are distributed by federal formula, and are to be used at local discretion, within the parameters set by the two programs. Summer programs for Special Needs students and Pre-school disabled students: The goals of these programs are to improve academic results through early learning and extended learning time. School year programs: The goals of these programs are to improve academic results with the use of technology in the classroom Read 180. This program will enable students to make progress towards rigorous state standards and high-quality assessments. READ 180 is an intensive reading intervention program that helps educators confront the problem of adolescent illiteracy and special needs reading on multiple fronts, using technology, print, and professional development. READ 180 is proven to meet the needs of struggling readers whose reading achievement is below proficient level. The program directly addresses individual needs through differentiated instruction, adaptive and instructional software, high-interest literature, and direct instruction in reading, writing, and vocabulary skills. Child Study Team Computer Hardware for IEP (Individual Education Plan) Processing: Used to track progress and foster continuous academic improvement at all grade levels. Title 1: The purpose of this program is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging State academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. These funds are allocated to provide for students with the greatest needs at the Elementary level in the following schools:
