Dorothy Jameson

Ms. Jamison was a Master Teacher who believed that teaching subject matter and building character traits went hand in hand. Her influence is felt by thousands of students who attended Toms River Schools in the seventh and eighth grades from 1922 to 1953. It has been reported that she was so well loved by the children that anyone who gave her trouble would have been "attended to" by the rest of the class.

Graduating in 1913 from Montclair State Normal School, Ms. Jamison taught six years in Bayville and thirty years in Toms River. In addition she served countless hours with the American Red Cross being secretary of the Ocean County chapter in the years between World War I and II. She also served on the Board of Bishop Memorial Library.
