Mrs. Margaret Bench
When we think about someone to exemplify all that is good in education, Margaret Bench’s name is at the top of the list. She is that effervescent person who arrives each day with a smile on her face. Her enthusiasm is contagious. She only wants what is best for the students and entire community of West Dover School. When discussing a student Mrs. Bench’s eyes ignite with love, empathy and compassion.
Margie is a liaison to the PTO and attends meetings. Going above and beyond what she has to do, Margie makes sure students and parents feel involved in classroom activities. She has instituted the Chalkboard Chat evenings in which she invites parents to help clarify curriculum. She is a facilitator for FIT - the Family Involvement Team. As a Teacher Leader for the district Mrs. Bench contributes to the quality of the professional development of the teaching staff. An Excel coordinator Mrs. Bench works tirelessly to organize paperwork and materials and assists in every aspect of the position. The position of mentor for new teachers is the perfect position for such a fantastic teacher.
Every altruistic adjective applies to Margie. She is patient, persistent and professional. Each day she communicates with aplomb with students and staff. Her accomplishments are an impressive list. She is competent, capable and conscientious.
