The members of the Toms River Board of Education will hold a Special Board of Education Meeting at High School North, Media Center, 1245 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08753. An Executive Session will begin at 6:15pm. dealing with personnel, litigation and other business permitted to be discussed in Executive Session as provided by law. TOMS RIVER REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION
PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO AMEND AND/OR ALTER SUPERINTENDENT’S CONTRACT
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey has enacted P.L. 2007, c.53, the “School District Accountability Act” (“Act”); and
WHEREAS, Section 5 of the Act amended N.J.S.A. 18A:11-11 to require a board of education to provide public notice at least 30 days prior to the renegotiation, extension, amendment, or alteration of an employment contract with a Superintendent of Schools, and to hold a public hearing on the proposed contract modification, notice of which shall be not less than 10 days prior to the hearing and scheduled action; and
WHEREAS, the Toms River Regional Schools District Board of Education intends to take action to amend and/or alter the terms and conditions of the employment contract of the Superintendent of Schools.
NOW, THEREFORE, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the Act, the Toms River Regional Schools District Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the proposed amendment to the employment contract of the Superintendent of Schools on October 8, 2025, at 6:15 p.m. during its special scheduled Board of Education meeting, after which the Board will consider action to amend or alter the contract with the Superintendent. The meeting will be held at High School North, Media Center, 1245 Freehold Road, Toms River, New Jersey 08753.
This notice shall serve as the 30-day public notice of the proposed contract amendment and the 10-day public notice of the hearing. It is the intent of the Board of Education to take formal action on said employment contract at this meeting.
Members of the public are invited to attend the hearing and submit comments regarding the proposed amendment and/or alteration of the Superintendent’s employment contract. The Board, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 10:4-12(b), the Open Public Meetings Act, shall not publicly discuss personnel matters and shall not respond to comments made by members of the public. Please be aware that the subject of this hearing retains the right of privacy and shall retain all rights regarding defamation and slander according to the laws of New Jersey. The Board shall not be held liable for comments made by members of the public.
