Dear Citta Seahawk Family,
While the need to transition to a fully virtual instructional model became apparent in recent days as we watched the number of Covid-19 cases and risk increase within our community, it is no less heartbreaking to know that we won't see our students in person for the next few weeks. That being said, there is nothing more important than the safety and well-being of our Citta family, and this decision highlights that commitment. We are extremely grateful to our entire Citta family. Our Seahawks adjusted to our new safety protocols with ease, and we know that each of our families and staff members made personal sacrifices to do their part to keep our building open.
The adjustments that we made to our fully virtual instructional model at the beginning of this school year allowed us to connect with our students while truly replicating the in-person learning experience. We look forward to building on the work that we've been doing to best support our students' social, emotional, and academic growth. In order to do so, we will shift back to our full day schedule as of Monday, November 30. Students will log in for morning meeting each day at 9:25. Your child's teacher will post the daily schedule for mathematics, reading, writing, science/ social studies, and special area instruction. All students in the class will follow the same schedule regardless of current instructional model selection. All students and staff will have lunch from 12:45-1:20 and then continue their instructional day until 3:30. We recognize the need to limit screen time, so our teachers will continue to incorporate movement breaks and independent offline activities. Individual teachers and grade level teams will be scheduling material drop-off and pick-up. Please monitor all communication from your child's teacher in the Google Classroom and through Remind or Class DoJo daily.
Lastly, we continue to partner with the Ocean County Health Department to monitor the health and wellness of our school community. If your child exhibits symptoms or is in close contact with a Covid positive individual, please reach out to our school nurse, Mrs. Halloran, so she can assist you to meet the needs of your child and family and provide recommendations on maintaining everyone’s health and safety.
Our partnership is vital to our students' success. We can’t thank you enough for your continued support.
Citta Seahawks, with style we fly. Spread your wings, and soar high!
