August 20, 2026 - There have been plenty of cleanup efforts already this summer, but this ... this is the big one. It's the second annual district-wide beautification day, impacting all 12 elementary schools and the three intermediate schools.

Organized by Director of Operations Bryan Madigan, the day brings together students, staff, families, and high school T.E.A.M. volunteers to work together to help beautify the exterior of buildings.

The leadership team at each elementary school targeted its areas of need of what had to be done, whether that was pulling weeds from the playground, mulching front-facing flower beds, cleaning sidewalks, or all of the above, volunteers were prepared to get their hands dirty.

"I truly appreciate everyone working together to make our schools look their best and ready to welcome back our students," said Madigan.

Moore's helps Int. South do more to beautify

Intermediate South continued its commitment to creating welcoming and inspiring spaces for students and staff with its Second Beautification Day, bringing members of the school community together once again to enhance the grounds and courtyards throughout the building.

Building on the success of the school’s first beautification efforts, staff, parents, and student volunteers spent the morning planting, cleaning, organizing, and adding new touches to spaces that are becoming an important part of the Intermediate South environment. The ongoing project is designed not only to make the campus more beautiful, but also to create outdoor areas that can be enjoyed as learning spaces, gathering areas, and places for students and staff to recharge.

“Our beautification project has truly become a labor of love,” said Assistant Principal Casey Daniel. “Each time we come together, we see these spaces become a little more special. We want our students to walk into Intermediate South and feel proud of their school and know that this is a place people care about.”

Assistant Principal Leigh Madigan echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the community effort behind the transformation.

“It has been wonderful to see everyone work together toward a common goal,” said Madigan. “These projects are about more than flowers and landscaping—they are about creating an environment where our students and staff feel welcomed, connected, and proud to be Seminoles.”

Intermediate South would also like to extend a special thank-you to Moore’s Farm Market for its continued generosity and support of the beautification project. Moore’s previously supported Intermediate South's courtyard beautification efforts through donations of flowers and trees, helping the school transform its outdoor spaces.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have local businesses that believe in supporting our schools,” added Daniel. “The generosity of Moore’s has helped us bring our vision for these spaces to life, and we are extremely grateful for their partnership.”

With another successful Beautification Day complete, Intermediate South looks forward to continuing the transformation and providing spaces that reflect the pride, positivity, and sense of community that make the school special. Thank you to everyone who helped make our Second Beautification Day a success—and especially to Moore’s for continuing to support our Seminole community!

Kids who crushed Int. East's beautification day reap their rewards

Intermediate East student ambassadors Brianna Prinston and Liliana Mattera received Pizzookie gift certificates after a morning of hard work, and they were quick to cash them in. Who can blame them?

The Rockets worked on beautifying the inside of their school, too, and had tons of fun while doing so. Check out some additional photos of Intermediate East students hard at work getting everything Rocket Ready for 2026-2027.
