Sept. 3, 2024-- In celebration of its new store opening in Toms River, Bob’s Discount Furniture has donated $2,500 to Walnut Street Elementary School.

The gesture is part of the company's community outreach program, a "Random Act of Kindness ‘RAK’ donation" to a worthy organization in the area.

Walnut Street Principal Richard DeMarco and Supervisor Courtney Norcross were on hand at Bob's Discount Furniture's grand opening celebration Aug. 30 to accept the donation, which is unrestricted, meaning the school can utilize it for whatever it needs most.

"This is an amazing gesture and we appreciate this so much," DeMarco said.

The new Bob's Discount Furniture location is at 1228 Hooper Avenue. More information about the company's community giving can be found on their blog.
