Sept. 21, 2026- Today's staff professional day was intended to be more than educational; its mission was to embody this year's "where passion meets purpose" mantra, to be fun, meaningful and memorable, and it has certainly lived up to that promise.

There was a carpool selfie (below) and karaoke contest, competitions among schools to see who donned the most spirit wear (with a bagel breakfast at stake) and, of course, a robust series of important, innovative, and impactful workshop sessions to help educators boost their capacity in the classroom.

The day of staff learning was centrally located at High School North. Superintendent Michael Citta (right) hosted several sessions which were attended by all district staff members that discussed the Dolphin Academy set to premiere next school year. Citta and Director of Special Services Dana Weber took questions and talked about plans and timelines for the special services hub. It was a helpful and informative session, and the ideal time to communicate about the impactful plan.

From there, staff continued their professional learning journey for the day. Photos of all the fun below are courtesy of High School East's Allison Goodwin.
