Oct. 20, 2025- The Fourth Annual Community Resource Fair for the district's multilingual families was hosted Oct. 16 at RWJBarnabas Health Arena, and it served as another great example of how TRRS schools, families, and the community are ALL IN for the 2025-2026 school year.
"This year's event was full of meaningful connections and smiling faces," said ESL Department Coordinator Sara McNerny, "as families gained a wealth of information from our community partners, enjoyed performances from the three high school Hispanic Heritage Clubs, scooped up bags full of school supplies and books, and played various games with pumpkins to welcome the fall season."
For a handful of those games and activities, the Community Resources Fair offered some serious prizes, and a few lucky winners walked away with iPads, ShopRite gift cards, and mums. Panera provided treats for all, thanks to the NJ SNAP Gap grant through Rutgers University.
The event also provided the perfect opportunity to open up registration for this year's Adult ESL Night School program which will begin in November. For more information and to register, click the flyer to the right.
The evening culminated with a beautiful performance from Toms River's local band, Mariachi Huitzilin, which "loves being a part of sharing cultures within our own community."
"I couldn't be happier with how the night played out," said McNerny.
