March 27, 2026- The Special Education Google Classroom Staff Connection Challenge was an effort to build strong team bonds. Why?
In special education, our days can be intense. We support students with complex needs, navigate unpredictable moments, and often make difficult decisions quickly. The strength of our relationships with one another is what carries us through those moments.
The challenge therefore asked team members to, with accompanying photos, describe how they build relationships, connect with each other, what makes their team great, and how they find the joy together in those hard moments.
Best yet, the challenge was supported by local businesses. McKenzie Reed (above) and the East Dover team (left) were the big winners and, thanks to support from local Dunkin' stores, cashed in on food and coffee prizes. Jersey Mike's on Fischer Blvd also donated a catering box to the first-place winners, and those sponsorships truly helped make the challenge special.
"There is no 'gen ed' or 'special ed' team," said district behavior analyst Sarah Strazzella. "We are all are one big happy family, and we all work together for the benefit of the students!"
