Oct. 30, 2025- A donation from its PTO and some help from a former principal have a new sign installed for Intermediate East.
Crews were out earlier this week to dig for and install the school's new marquee along Hooper Avenue. Director of Operations Bryan Madigan (above right, looking very much in charge), who served as Rocket principal for years before accepting his new position this past summer, utilized the district's talented and hard-working maintenance crew and his familiarity with the grounds to make it all happen.
Crews including Mike Xifo (above right, shovel in hand) and Donny Wedding (above, on the backhoe) safely dug lines along the front of the school in order to connect the new signage to power. With the lines and sign secured, passersby along the busy road will soon receive flashes of important school info and student accomplishments.
The new principal digs it, too.
"Our Rockets greatly appreciate this sign and the work that went into it!" exclaimed Principal James Cleveland.
