May 11, 2026- The "Dive to Thrive" initiative at Intermediate North has resulted in a number of truly impactful community donations, including boxes upon boxes of gently-used books for kids at Children's Specialized Hospital earlier this year. The school's most recent efforts, however, went towards some local furry friends.
Led by teachers Christopher Burton and Marlaina Anderson (above), Dolphin students implemented a Pet Supply Drive to benefit Jersey Shore Animal Center in Brick.
"Huge thank you to the amazing students and teachers at Toms River Intermediate North for hosting a Dive to Thrive event in our honor," wrote JSAC in a Facebook post (top right). "A special shoutout to Ms. Anderson and Mr. Burton for delivering a HUGE load of donations for our animals."
One of those animals included Ranger (right), a sweet lab in desperate need of a home who greeted Burton and Anderson with a wagging tail and plenty of thank-you kisses.
"We are so proud of our Dolphins for showing kindness, compassion, and community spirit through this meaningful act of service," said Intermediate North Supervisor Brianne Bates. "Thank you for making a difference!"
