Jan. 16, 2025- Business Academy students at High School South were treated to a special guest lecture this week from an Indian alum. Jenna Powitz even brought along her Sports Emmy Award, won in the field of digital marketing/social media for her work on the NBC Sports Digital Team covering the Olympics. She shared with students her experiences as a social media manager for NBC/Universal/Comcast, now Versant as of Jan. 1, 2026.

As an independent media company, Versant owns cable TV properties including USA Network, CNBC, MSNOW, E!, Syfy, and Oxygen, as well as digital sites Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes. Powitz spoke to the versatility of experiences that variety of digital entities has brought to her career, and students were left informed and inspired.
