Fun Day of Fitness at West Dover ESY Program with TRPD

Getting Active with Our Friends in Blue

August 7, 2025 -- West Dover's ESY program was full of energy and excitement as they teamed up with the Toms River Police Department (TRPD) during an action-packed day full of fun, fitness, and flashing lights -- the fun kind!

Students participated in a variety of physical activities and games that promoted teamwork, healthy habits, and most importantly—fun! Officers from the TRPD joined in the festivities, encouraging students and cheering them on throughout the day. Students also had the opportunity to check out the police officers' squad cars and even tested out the sirens and lights.

From relay races to dance-offs, the event was a great way to stay active while building community spirit. A big thank-you to the TRPD for their partnership and for making the day so memorable for our students!

The event would not have been possible without the support of West Dover's PE teacher and overall mastermind of the event Manny Martis, ESY Coordinator Kevin Huff, Director of Special Education Dana Weber, Principal Shannon Brown and Supervisor Kate Melson.

TRPD may have brought the sirens, but our students brought the spark!
