High School East band plays

Sept. 14, 2022-- The 2022-2023 school year is young—just underway—but the fun has already begun. Big football games have provided a reason for students to come out in full force, and for schools to tout their cheering and marching band talent.

At High School East, for example, the school’s first home football game (a tough loss to Manchester, unfortunately) was a cause for celebration. The school’s cheering squad and marching band (left) delighted fans, who came out in big numbers and with tons of spirit to root for the Raiders.

Speaking of marching bands, High School South’s was named the best in Ocean County by 92.7 WOBM. Congratulations to the Indians! The HSS Spirit Leaders also produced a joyous video welcoming everyone back to school, and the girls volleyball team won the Brick Mustang Memorial Invitational tournament last weekend.

High School North’s marching band finished third in that WOBM poll, by the way. A back-to-school pep rally was hosted at HSN last week, and students there have plenty to cheer about. The Mariners football team is 2-0, and earned Shore Sports Network’s Jersey Mike’s Team of the Week for Week 1, following their big win over Rumson in the Rumble on the Raritan game at Rutgers University last week.

All in all, a first week worth celebrating for all district high schools.
