Dec. 12, 2023-- Last week, Dec. 6, 42 students from High School East's Hispanic Heritage Club had the opportunity to visit Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to explore the different careers offered by the New Jersey Army National Guard.

During this visit, students learned about the requirements to be a member of the National Guard and the benefits it offers to its members, such as free college tuition, monthly paychecks, specialized training in more than 200 fields, and retirement packages for even part-time service.

Students had access to the hangar where mechanics were working on the helicopters and, under their supervision, went inside the Black Hawk helicopters.

"It was an excellent experience for students to see firsthand what the National Guard does for our country," said club advisor Liz Rodriguez. "Thank you, National Guard, for receiving us!"

El miércoles, 6 de diciembre cuarenta y dos miembros del Club de la Herencia Hispana de Toms River High School East tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar la base militar McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst para explorar las diferentes carreras que ofrece el Army National Guard. Durante esta visita, ellos aprendieron sobre los requisitos para ser un miembro de la Guardia Nacional y de todos los beneficios que ofrece a sus miembros como registración gratuita para la universidad, salario mensual, entrenamiento especializado en sobre 200 campos y beneficios de retiro por servicio a tiempo parcial entre otros beneficios. Los estudiantes pudieron visitar el hangar donde los mecánicos trabajaban con los helicopteros y bajo su supervisión, fueron adentro de los Black Hawks.
