April 28, 2020-- The team at Hooper Avenue Elementary School, led by Principal Jason Hughes and Supervisor Christine Manna, forged a campaign to honor the school's heroes.

"So many of our students have loved ones who are our Hooper Heroes during this pandemic," said teacher Jennifer Zieser. "We wanted these children to know that we are grateful, and that there are other students going through many of the same anxieties they feel on a daily basis as they worry about their loved ones."

Principal Hughes and Supervisor Manna shared the video with students this morning via Google Classroom. "Hooper Avenue always takes great pride in honoring those who serve our community and country," wrote Hughes in a tweet which introduced the video.

The video received coverage at 94.3 The Point and Toms River Patch. It also aired on NBC News Wednesday evening.
