Oct. 28, 2020-- The HOPE Center, a Toms River nonprofit organization that provides food through its full-service, client-choice food pantry and community garden, as well as shelter assistance, utility assistance, and
transportation to those in need throughout the community, extended its goodwill to TRRS students today, delivering Halloween pails to the Early Learning Center.
The pails included chips, a drink, fruit snacks, candy, GoGo Squeeze applesauce, a coloring book, and crayons.
"It's our effort to share a little Halloween fun with some students in our community who may otherwise not be able to enjoy a Halloween 'trick or treat' this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic," said Executive Director Amy VanBezooijen.
The HOPE Center is heavily involved in the community. In addition to its role hosting the upcoming Operation BBQ Nov. 14-- through which it will distribute hot meals, blankets, hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves-- it also hosts "Sweet Baby Bottoms," a project through which it shares diapers, wipes, bibs, baby blankets, and more to those in need. The second Sweet Baby Bottoms event will take place during Operation BBQ.
