Feb. 12, 2025- Challenge Day made its way from Intermediate North to Intermediate South yesterday, and it proved to be an unforgettable experience

The program engaged students in meaningful activities, open conversations, and team-building experiences designed to break down barriers and encourage understanding. Participants had the opportunity to share their voices, listen to one another’s stories, and reflect on how their actions impact others. The result was a day filled with honesty, courage, compassion, and unity.

"Challenge Day reinforces our school’s commitment to fostering a safe environment where every student feels valued, respected, and connected," said Assistant Principal Leigh Madigan, who was instrumental in helping to bring the day to the school. "Students left the event with stronger peer relationships, greater self-awareness, and a renewed sense of responsibility to look out for one another both inside and outside the classroom."

Challenge Day is made possible through the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, whose dedication to youth wellness and school safety plays a vital role in positively impacting student behavior. Intermediate South staff, counselors, administrators, and volunteers also worked behind the scenes to ensure the day ran smoothly and successfully.

"Challenge Day reminded us all that small acts of kindness can make a big difference," Madigan said, "and that together, we can continue to make Intermediate South a place where everyone belongs."
