Physical Fair Goes Virtual, IN Students Unfazed

March 31, 2020-- Intermediate North teachers Katie Keller and Kristin Renkin were prepared to send 42 students to compete in the Jersey Shore Science Fair at Stockton University March 21. Unfortunately, the fair was not able to physically take place. The Jersey Shore Science Fair directors decided to host a virtual science fair instead.

Students were therefore given an opportunity prior to judging to upload any additional information on their projects, and the students were later judged virtually.

Intermediate North made out very well, as evidenced by the following placements for IN students:

Biochemistry

  • 2nd Place -Shriya Patel
  • Honorable Mention- Faith Moreno

Botany

  • 2nd Place- Kaitlyn Muller

Chemistry

  • Honorable Mention-Meaghan Weatherstone
  • Honorable Mention-Isabella Merlino

Earth and Space Science

  • Honorable Mention- Abigail Piotrowski

Environmental Science

  • 1st Place-Kaitlyn Culbert

Mathematics

  • 2nd Place-Aliya Nagaria

Physics

  • 3rd Place-Maverick Marck

Team Category

  • 1st Place-Riley Budenas and Morgan Rodemann

First- and second-place winners advance to the next level at the Delaware Valley Science Fair, which will also be hosting a virtual version of the science fair this year. Stay tuned!
