Nov. 11, 2025- Veterans Day 2025 was the ideal opportunity for High School South to introduce its Military Wall of Honor, which was designed and constructed by students in the school's signature CTE program, Project SPEAR-IT.

The dedication ceremony brought forth scores of guests and alumni who have served or continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces.

"Today we recognize the incredible legacy of service," said High School South Principal Kevin Raylman said during his opening remarks, "of South graduates who dedicated their lives to something larger than themselves."

The morning event began with a presentation of colors and singing of the National Anthem, and progressed to include remarks from guests and student leaders, and a releasing of doves.

"The dove represents peace, freedom, and hope," said Raylman, before the assembled crowed ventured outside to South's field, where the release of the doves made for a beautiful and poignant scene.

Back inside, guests mingled and marveled at the Military Wall. Many took photos of the framed photographs, sending them instantly to loved ones.

High School South families came together to talk about previous generations of servicemen and servicewomen who used to walk the hallways, and who continue to bring a great sense of pride to the school. The young children in attendance donned red, white, and blue, and felt that sense of pride and patriotism.
