March 5, 2019 -- Every year in March, the National Education Association promotes a day of national reading, called Read Across America Day, that coincides with Dr. Seuss's birthday. This year, students and staff in Toms River Regional Schools celebrated the day on Friday, March 1.
Classrooms across the district welcomed guest readers, which included Board of Education members, administrators, retired staff, parents, community members, town officials, and many others. Additionally, schools prepared lessons and activities centered around Dr. Seuss's beloved books.
It was a day thoughtfully prepared to remind everyone the importance of reading daily and to never stop learning. Dr. Seuss continues to remind us that, “the more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
