March 4, 2024-- Last year, Intermediate East debuted its Selfie Celebration. It's officially an annual event now, as the school hosted it again late last week.

"It’s all about staying true to ourselves," said Intermediate East teacher and event organizer Angela Germano, "learning to say good things about ourselves, treating our bodies right, and nourishing our heart and soul."

The event, made possible through a grant from Toms River Education Association, included journaling, yoga, meditation, positive affirmations, making vision boards, walking the red carpet and, of course, selfies. More than 100 students, families and friends attended and "LOVED it," according to Germano.
