May 18, 2026- The Toms River Education Association awarded grant money to Intermediate East that enabled the school to continue its annual Selfie Celebration. "The event is all about staying true to ourselves and loving us up," said Int. East teacher and event organizer Angela Germano (left, in foreground). "About learning to say good things about ourselves, treating our bodies right, nourishing our heart and soul."
Students journaled, gave and received positive affirmations, made vision boards and, of course, walked the red carpet to take selfies with loved ones.
More than 100 students, families, and friends participated and "loved it," according to Germano, who also thanked the TREA for their support.
