Oct. 6, 2025- Sixth graders at Intermediate South connected with each other through comedy during the school's "Laughing Together" assembly Oct. 3.

Students participated in impromptu role-play during games that encouraged them to have "real human moments through eye contact and laughter," as instructed by the assembly's host, Compass NJ.

Building a community of support, making connections, and taking care of each other were the themes of the assembly.

Oh, and also: Don't be afraid to be silly:

"As we move forward this year," advised guidance counselor Betty Velez-Gimbel following the assembly, "let's remember to say, 'And yes- I support you; I'm here for you; I'll be the one looking out for you!'"

Great advice following what seems to have been a fun and funny event.
