Socktober
District and school administrators and RWJBarnabas Health reps join Silver Bay Elementary's Peer Leadership Ambassadors to celebrate the results of the district's Socktober sock drive.

Oct. 4, 2019-- With the winter months approaching, Community Medical Center and RWJBarnabas Health are hosting a sock drive that benefits the Toms River Community Church's Outreach Program for the Homeless.

The district's student Peer Leadership Ambassadors wanted to help. They organized an elementary-wide effort-- dubbed "Socktober"-- to support the cause, and schools came through with dozens and dozens of pairs of socks for the homeless.

This week, representatives from RWJBarnabas Health visited Silver Bay Elementary to thank the students and collect the donation, which will go a long way toward helping the homeless population in the community.
