May 10, 2021-- High School South student Mateo Guarin helped create an anti-hate video that was recognized by the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.
“An Anti-Bias Vision for the Next Generation” award was provided to Mateo by NJDCR Community Relations Specialist Ashley Riker in late April. The sophomore student's video was honored by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.
"We are so proud of him and the work Ocean County youth are doing to combat bias and hate," said Riker.
"Mateo works in our Community Ambassadors Club to continue to make a positive impact on our community," added proud HSS Principal Michael Citta.
