Sept. 2, 2025- What's become an annual chance for staff to convene just before students arrive for the new school year took place today at RWJBarnabas Health Arena. "Together: ALL IN" was the theme, and Toms River Regional Schools staff members donned spirit wear and gathered to receive a little bit of motivation and energy for the upcoming educational journey.
After Assistant Superintendents Patrick Thomas and Cara DiMeo highlighted some of the impressive district achievements over the past several years— chronic absenteeism down seven percent, antisocial behaviors down 17 percent, for example— Superintendent Michael Citta piggybacked off of the positive news and energy.
"Our 'one family' mantra is what makes these improvements possible, and what keeps things moving for our kids," he said.
"You show up every day, and you inspire this community," he added.
As for the pep rally itself, (Stefon voice) it had everything: the High School North band; complimentary umbrellas; DJ Phil Walsh; duck races; North and South cheerleaders; "All In" magnets; comedy routines by Pat Thomas and Cara DiMeo; and hype man Dave Correll.
Best yet— High School East's Allison Goodwin was also there, camera(s) in hand, and some of her fantastic photos from the pep rally are below. Others can soon be found on the district's Instagram and Facebook feeds.
