May 5, 2025- This past Friday, May 2, students from all three high schools who take part in the district's work-based learning program put in some good work for those in need.

They spent the early morning participating in Pop the Trunk, a weekly event from Fulfill Food Bank and the Presbyterian Church of Toms River whereby a dedicated group of volunteers gather in the church's parking lot to distribute food to those in the community who need it.

"It was a beautiful morning, and my students found the experience to be very rewarding," said work-based learning teacher-coordinator Jamie Tesoro. "We met a lot of really nice people and were happy to be a part of something that brings our community together with positivity.”

The cohort of student volunteers was quick to thank event organizers Jessica Schlapfer and Dana Tormollan for allowing them to be involved. Great work, everyone!
