Dakota's Visit Promotes the Joy of Reading
On the first Wednesday of every month, a therapy dog visits Silver Bay students in the classroom for the deaf and the multiple disabilities classroom for students in grades 3-5. Dakota, the therapy dog pictured here, is part of the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program which helps students improve their reading and communication skills. The program also encourages the love of books and reading. During the therapy dog's visits, students have the opportunity to read and interact with Dakota.
